Music ByAi

Feeling drowsy? Turn the music up and put on something high-energy: rock, metal, heavy metal… 😅 But that only keeps you awake for a few minutes; it does not cure drowsiness (see the next tip).

If you really feel you need sleep, stop at the first place where you feel safe and get some rest. 🫸🏾

When you are driving, just drive. 🙌🏾

On long non-stop drives (only on the open road, when travelling), do not keep your eyes locked straight ahead. Now and then take a quick glance at the scenery around you and enjoy it; it pulls your mind out of that trance-like, passive state. 🫴🏾

Never brake in a bend. Bring the car to a safe speed for the turn before you reach it, then ease onto the throttle slightly through the bend to keep the car stable and its handling intact. 🤌🏾

When a car comes up fast behind you and flashes or honks, let it pass. Everyone is dealing with something we know nothing about, or maybe their brakes are failing. 🫰🏾

When pulling away (say the car was parked at the roadside and you have just got in): unless you are in the UK 🙂, to pull out to the left you must turn your head left and look back, or even carefully lean a little out of the window. Check beside, around and behind you, and join the traffic only when it is safe. 👍🏾

Never throw litter out of the car window. Besides the curses you will get, people will check your number plate to see which city you are from! It is not a human thing to do. Respect the environment and the environment will respect us. 🤞🏾

Keeping a safe following distance matters a lot. If, for any reason, the car ahead brakes harder than you can and you have not kept your distance, a crash is certain. Even more important: do not just watch the car in front; watch two cars ahead of it too. And never tint your rear window or hang a curtain on it; that raises the chance of being hit from behind. ✌🏾
